What is heave protection?

Jablite Claymaster (Clay Heave Protection) is a product that provides protection against clay heave. The expansion and contraction process during wet and dry periods is known as ‘clay heave’. This can cause severe problems with foundations.

Do I need heave protection?

Drains are just as vulnerable to heave and should be protected. If heave is likely, then minimum gradients should be avoided and steeper gradients with additional granular material of up to 150mm thickness should be used.

Is heave covered by insurance?

Does insurance cover slab heave?

If you’ve experienced a slab leak, insurance coverage may kick in, especially if the cause was the result of a covered peril. However, you may have to pay for repairs yourself if the plumbing leak was the result of poor maintenance on your part.
