Can you make a Dana 35 strong?

Make no mistake, a built Dana 35 is a strong and capable axle. Obviously not as strong as a build Dana 44 (or similar), but if you’re not going to be running anything larger than 33″ tires, a built Dana 35 should suit you just fine.

Can a Dana 35 handle 35s?

Yes, a built Dana 35 with a Super35 kit installed can handle 35s.

Can a Dana 35 handle 31s?

31s and 33s are usually fine… 35s is really pushing it. As for the D35.. everything seems to be decent about it with the exception of the spider gears.

How big of a tire can a Dana 35 handle?

Registered. Realistically, 31’s are the biggest tire that should be on that axle. Yes, others have 32’s or 33’s on it without issue, but those who do wheel with that size tire often don’t let the tires spin at all.

Is Dana 35 C clip?

The ’90-and-later Dana 35s have C-clips that retain the axles in the housing. If a C-clip shaft snaps, the axle, wheel, and brake drum will liberate themselves from the housing if you try to drive on it.

Will a Dana 35 handle a V8?

If you upgrade your Dana 35 to a super 35 (beefier 30-spline axles shafts), it would handle the V8 power just fine too.

Can you run 35s on a Dana 30?

Yes. A Dana30 with 30-spline shafts will be fine for 35″ tires.

In most stock applications, they will live indefinitely; however, adding a locker and larger-than-stock tires or driving abusively can snap them. If you have broken a stock Dana 35 shaft, you will surely do it again. The ’90-and-later Dana 35s have C-clips that retain the axles in the housing.

How much HP can a Dana 30 handle?

Amongst other things. To answer your question the stock supports 250 or 300 if you don’t savage it. Run that rear until it blows, then stick an 8.8 in there.

Can you run 37s on Dana 35?

Registered. You can put 37’s on with stock axles unlocked…. Just dont expect it to last more then a week to a month.

Why are bent flanges used on axle trusses?

This increases the welding surface area of the truss on your axle tubes, distributing the load, and making them incredibly strong and as light as possible. The main hoop of the truss also has two bent flanges that face down to give it a boxed design and add structural rigidity.
