What happens when you lower loft on driver?
Lower lofts can provide more energy transfer at impact because there’s less of an oblique angle. It’s why your 7-iron flies farther than your 8-iron. In our test, drivers with less loft consistently produced more ball speed, even for low swing-speed golfers (3.2 mph more compared to the 10.5 and 12-degree drivers).
How big is the head of the TaylorMade R9 Superdeep?
The Taylormade R9 SuperDeep is already being touted as the successor to the original bad boy the deep faced 510TP. Players are shocked at the new R9 DF as the head appears from above to be in the 400-420cc range but in actuality its a 460cc superstar!
How do you adjust a TaylorMade R9 driver?
Keep making adjustments to the R9 driver until you find a combination of weights and FCT setting that produces a true, straight ball trajectory off the club face. Do not use anything but the R9 wrench to adjust the club weights and remove the club head from club.
What does upright mean on a TaylorMade R9?
The “Upright” FCT corrects a slight slice and leaves the loft neutral. The two additional unmarked positions between “Left” and “Upright” can continue to correct a slice in the ball trajectory. Moving the FCT sleeve to the “Right” position corrects a hook and lowers the loft of the ball’s flight.
How to fine tune a TaylorMade R9 supertri?
Because once you have the correct loft, then one can dial it in to fine tune the head and not attempt to make the head something totally different then what it really is. For fine tuning, one should try 8-1-8 or 8-2-8 MWT set ups, in the N position and then try it with all of those FCT set ups you listed above.
