Code is written in the standard programming languages, although comments (and perhaps variable names) could be written in Chinese. No use re-inventing the wheel (where “the wheel” is C++, Perl, Python, etc.) when you can just learn a few keywords.
Is 24 too old to learn programming?
It is never too late. We got some new employees from other job fields that switched to software development and they are sometimes over 30 or 40. As long as you want to learn and have fun with it it’s never too late.
Is coding like math?
Math and programming are very closely related as math is really the universal language between humans and computers. You do not need to know a lot of math for high level programming as a lot of that is behind the scenes, but it will aid in comprehension for a lot of more advanced programming concepts.

No, coding is not hard to learn, but it’s also not easy, either, and how difficult a time one has with learning to code will vary across a number of factors. The point is, learning to code isn’t impossible; or, it’s not as impossible as it might seem when it comes to getting your kids involved.
What code should I learn first?
Java is still quite popular, but Python and Ruby are arguably easier to learn. If you have your heart set on being an Android developer, start with Java — but if not, you might find that you get more versatility (and more bang for your buck, so to speak) by learning Python first instead.
