Do Carhartt bibs run big or small?

For bib overalls: Order overalls 4 inches bigger in the waist than your regular pant waist. Since bib overalls run long and have a long rise you also may want to order them 2 inches shorter in length than your regular pant length. Example: Your normal pant size: 36 waist x 32 length.

How do you know what size bibs to get?

First and foremost, your waist size in bibs is going to be bigger. For men, that tends to add 2-6 inches to your current waist size in jeans, especially if your belly hangs over your pant waist. For women, the general rule is to add 23 to the Women’s size.

Does Carhartt fit true to size?

In general, I recommend ordering your normal sizing in Carhartt jackets. The lighter-weight spring/fall jackets that Carhartt offers tend to run true-to-size. In most all cases, normal sizing is best.

Should overalls be tight or loose?

Overalls need to be somewhat loose for ease of movement. Measure your inseam from crotch to hem. This measurement is not as specific as the girth, because the hanging length of the overalls changes as you adjust the shoulder straps.

Do Carhartt shirts fit big?

Do not expect a slim fit. If you order your normal sizing, expect a bit of extra room built-in. That said, I don’t recommend sizing down unless you just can’t stand baggy t-shirts. But do expect the Carhartt K87 to have more room than many standard t-shirts.

Do you wear pants under Carhartt overalls?

Overalls are made to be worn over you regular clothes, Pants are worn under overalls. You wear overalls when you are doing dirty work then take them off when you leave the job area. Bib overalls are different. They are designed to be worn as pants with nothing underneath.

What is the loop on the back of Carhartt bibs for?

Carhartt calls it a “tool loop”. It’s perfect for a 10″ and 12″ adjustable (Crescent) wrench. It might work for large open end wrenches (1 1/8″ or larger)? The closed end of those wrenches is usually smaller than the open end, so it’s small enough to pass thru the loop but the open end won’t.
