Are Ateco and Wilton tips interchangeable?
When the Wilton bag comes (16″), it has a small opening which fits standard tips/couplers. As for the Ateco bags, they’re probably compatible. The only issue would be the angle of the bags, but I’ve used both sizes of my Wilton couplers in third party bags and they work fine (usually with some adjustment).

How big of a piping tip do I need for a cake?
I like to use size 5 Otherwise these are most commonly used for writing on cakes and the larger ones are used to help with filling cakes and cupcakes. I don’t think you need anything smaller than a size 3 because otherwise it’s super tight. Size 12 is another common size I find helpful.
