What is D SIBs and G SIBs?
As opposed to the G-SIB framework, D-SIB framework is based on the assessment conducted by the national authorities, who are best placed to evaluate the impact of failure on the local financial system and the local economy.
How are G-SIBs assessed by the Basel Committee?
The Basel Committee’s assessment methodology for G-SIBs requires a sample of banks to report a set of indicators to national supervisory authorities. These indicators are then aggregated and used to calculate the scores of banks in the sample.
